changing your name

do you have to go throu court to change your name, or are there other options? I just got disowned from my mom's side of the family, and want to change my name since I'm no longer part of the family.

i'm sorry about your disownment from your mom's side of the family. I believe it costs a lot of money to have this done, and you have to go through court, but let me see what I find on google or something and get back to you on this matter.

Ouch, sorry that happened. Yes, I do believe you have to go through a court to have your name legally changed on everything, but I know people who have done it. As to what it costs, I'm not sure. Perhaps call your local/county courthouse and start asking questions.
